What’s the difference between Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin?
Each neuromodulator has a slightly different application:
- Botox does not spread and is ideal for pinpoint accuracy.
- Dysport spreads and is great for treating larger areas. It also gives a more natural look, as the individual can still make facial expressions.
- Jeuveau affords more immediate results, within 24 to 48 hours.
- Xeomin is similar to Botox but formulated without a preservative, which is helpful for people who have an allergy to the preservative.
What’s the difference between neuromodulators like Botox and dermal fillers?
While dermal fillers are made of a smooth gel that is injected underneath the skin to plump up and restore volume in targeted areas, Botox and other neurotoxins are administered directly into facial muscles and are formulated to relax the underlying muscle activity that causes lines and wrinkles to appear. You will still be able to make expressions after completing the procedure, unless you tell us that you would prefer to completely freeze the muscles from all expression.
How long does a Botox session take?
Botox and other neuromodulator procedures are quick and fit easily into any busy schedule.
Is Botox safe?
Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin are all FDA-approved and have proven safety profiles. Our neurotoxins are safe for patients with no contraindicating medical conditions, and our medical team at Artisan’s Rejuvenation Med Spa is expertly trained in this treatment.
What are the side effects with Botox and other neurotoxins?
Common side effects with any injection include slight bruising, swelling and redness at injection sites. Treated areas may also feel sore afterward, but these symptoms should subside within a day or two following treatment.
Am I a good candidate for Botox?
During your consultation with our medical team at Artisan’s Rejuvenation Med Spa, we will evaluate several factors, such as your overall health, medical history, treatment expectations and individual condition to determine if neuromodulators are an appropriate treatment for you. People with medical conditions that affect the nerves or muscles may require further evaluation before treatment is approved.
How long will my results last?
Results may vary, but most patients experience smoother, younger-looking skin for anywhere from four to nine months, depending on the individual and type of injectable treatment. While visible signs of aging may return after the injectable is absorbed by the body, regular treatment, plus a medical-grade skincare regimen can help maintain your results for the long term.
