FAQs: Thread lift in College Station, TX at Artisan’s Rejuvenation Med Spa
What are NovaThreads?
NovaThreads are needles that are pre-loaded with a polydioxanone (PDO) thread. PDO is an extremely safe and clinically proven material in the medical world. In fact, it is used for cardiothoracic surgery because it is fully absorbed by the body within four to six months and doesn’t create any scar tissue.
How is a thread lift performed?
We gently insert the PDO thread into targeted areas so that it rests parallel to the surface of the skin. We then pull the needle out, leaving the PDO thread in place.
How does a thread lift work?
NovaThreads provide an immediate lifting and smoothing effect to skin. They work to provide a scaffolding-type of support structure underneath the skin, supporting tissues at the subdermal level to restore lift and volume where needed. NovaThreads also stimulate collagen production, which means they continue providing support under the skin long after the threads have fully dissolved.
How long will my thread lift last?
Thread lifts can help to provide a younger-looking, more lifted appearance for up to 15 months.
Where can PDO threads be inserted?
NovaThreads can be inserted almost anywhere on the face or body. The most popular areas for treatment are the jaw and neck, but they can also be used on:
Are there any side effects with a thread lift?
With any injection, there is risk of redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding and bruising at the injection sites. These side effects resolve quickly on their own in the days following your treatment.
