The fancy words for it are neuromodulator and neurotoxin, but we all know the world’s #1 injectable treatments by name: Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin® — a.k.a., ARTOX at Artisan’s Rejuvenation Med Spa! ARTOX is a no-downtime injectable that makes lines and wrinkles disappear like magic. Unlike fillers, which smooth away wrinkles by plumping up the skin, ARTOX simply relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles to form. You’ll start noticing smoother skin within a few days to a week following your session, as the neuromodulator kicks in and takes full effect.
We gathered a few expert tips to ensure your next ARTOX session is a raging success:
Keep your hands off!
We know it’s tempting to touch your treatment sites, but frequent touching can introduce bacteria into your skin and increase your risk for infection. Touching your injection areas can also irritate your skin, enhancing any redness or swelling that may already be present. After any injection, you may experience some level of redness, swelling or bruising. This is totally normal. We recommend applying Alastin®’s INhance Post-Injection Serum, which is specifically formulated to help soothe skin, minimize side effects, speed healing and boost your results after your injectables treatments.
Lay off the booze!
We know we’re gearing up for the holidays in a big way but avoiding alcohol and any other blood thinning substances should be your first priority before every injectables session. No excuses! Alcohol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS), gingko biloba, ginseng and even green tea are all blood thinning culprits to avoid both before and after your session, as they can it may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the neuromodulator used.
Rushing your results doesn’t work with injectables. Your truest and best results are a matter of time. For ARTOX, it may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for your optimal results to appear, depending on the neuromodulator used. Having patience is key with ARTOX because it can also help you avoid overtreating certain areas. Sometimes, the effects may appear uneven at first, despite a balanced treatment. Most of the time, simply waiting for the ARTOX to fully kick in helps to balance out the results. However, if you rush back into our office and ask for a correction too soon, you risk overtreating the area.
Bottom line: Rest assured; we will work closely with you every step of the way to ensure your treatment is optimal in every way possible! You deserve the very best results and it’s our passion and privilege to give them to you!
