What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is the one and only procedure that is FDA-approved to lift the skin of the eyebrows, neck, and chin non-invasively. It can also be used to improve the appearance of the décolletage. This treatment is one of the most effective and safe ways to tighten, tone, and lift the skin with no downtime and minimal discomfort.
How Does it Work?
Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy to pass through the upper layers of the skin and stimulate healing in its deeper, fundamental layers. Once this ultrasound energy reaches the deep, inner layer of the skin, also known as the dermis, it begins to heat up the structures there. This causes collagen and elastin, two essential structural proteins, to coagulate and be produced in greater amounts by the body. The heat also causes extra blood and healing growth factors to rush to the treatment site, infusing it with enriching nutrients.
Over time, this healing response lifts and tightens the skin. This is because it causes the fundamental structure of the skin to strengthen from the inside out, improving both its look and feel in the long term.
What can I Expect from Treatment?
A single treatment that lasts between 30-90 minutes is all that’s required to get amazing skin rejuvenation results through Ultherapy. Based on the area being treated, the amount of time each procedure takes can vary dramatically. While areas like the face and neck take between 60-90 minutes, the chest takes only 30 minutes to treat.
Once an Ultherapy procedure is complete, patients can go right back to their daily routines. This is because Ultherapy features absolutely no downtime. Because the skin takes time to heal itself after Ultherapy, the results of treatment gradually appear over the course of 2-3 months, with improvements continuing through six months.
Ultherapy is a quick, easy and effective way to refresh and rejuvenate the skin in a subtle, natural-looking way. If you’d like more information about this procedure or are interested in scheduling a consultation appointment.
